2025 felt like a huge year for me as a writer. It was my first full year in the MFA program, I finished multiple short stories and flash pieces, I really dedicated myself to submitting my writing, I started this website, I started a Substack, I started making social media content, and I had my first ever publication credit in The Rabbit Hole anthology.

I plan on keeping this momentum going in 2026.

Here are my goals for the upcoming year:

• Finish the first draft of my current work in progress.
• Finish the two short stories I am currently working on.
  • One contemporary fiction and one sci-fi story.
• Post one Substack story a month.
• Post three Tiktok videos per week.
• Post monthly updates on this site.
• Finish a zero/skeleton draft of my next novel idea.
• Continue to submit my work for publication.
• Earn at least one more publication credit.
• Graduate from my MFA program.

That looks like a lot when its all written out, but I don’t feel daunted by these goals. I’m really enjoying all the work I’m doing and it feels like I might have an opportunity to really make a career out of this someday if I give it my all. So that’s exactly what I plan to do in 2026!
